Let us tell you that today i.e. 23rd January is the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bol and on this occasion PM Narendra Modi will unveil the hologram statue of Netaji.
The plan to install a hologram statue of Netaji has been announced by PM Modi himself through his Twitter post. In which he wrote, ‘Till the grand statue of Netaji Bose is not completed, a hologram statue of him will be present at the same place. I will unveil the hologram statue on January 23, the birth anniversary of Netaji. Let us tell you that this statue of Netaji will be installed under the umbrella at India Gate, which will be 28 feet long and 6 feet wide.
3D Hologram Technology: What is this technology?
Now with the help of 3D hologram technology, the statue of Netaji is being installed at India Gate, let us also know about that 3D hologram technology. 3D hologram technology is not commonly used in India. In such a situation, this statue of Netaji, the great freedom fighter of India and the founder of Azad Hind Fauj, will be unique in its kind in the country.
This technology uses a projector to display a virtual 3-dimensional image. To put it simply, a hologram is just a projection that looks real but is not actually real.
Unlike a conventional film on a sanded screen, a 3D hologram can be viewed from all directions. This means that you/the observer can look around the projected image for a realistic experience.
How different is 3D hologram from 3D video?
Let us now also know that how different 3D holograms are from virtual reality or say 3D video, the difference between 3D video and 3D hologram is that everyone can see it even without wearing 3D glasses.
These holograms are formed by the interference of light beams reflecting off real physical objects. For a realistic 3D hologram to be illuminated, it must first be specially designed or it must be professionally recorded using a laser. Projecting a 3D hologram requires a transparent holographic screen in addition to a projector. A holographic screen is a key element on which the quality of the hologram depends.
The hologram statue of Netaji at India Gate will be powered by a powerful 4K projector. These projectors are quite large and expensive. According to a PMO statement, the transparent holographic screen used for the statue will not be visible to the users.
3D Hologram on Smartphone: Make your own 3D Hologram at home
While this may sound a bit complicated, making a basic 3D hologram at home is not that difficult. It can be easily made using your smartphone and some basic household ingredients. There are tons of videos on YouTube that can help you walk through the process of making 3D holograms from your smartphone.
First you should have an old CD or DVD case, a scale, knife, glue, scissors and tape (transparent recommended). Now using this material you have to make a pyramid-like structure.
To learn how to make a projection for a hologram structure, you can watch the video below. The 2-minute video was shared by YouTuber Mrwosetheboss 6 years ago, but it’s still one of the easiest-to-understand tutorials on 3D hologram structures.
We also tried to follow the instructions mentioned in this video and it took us around 15-20 minutes to make our own 3D hologram projection at home through smartphone.
