How to do a Fishtail Braid is something that we all want to know and learn more about. If you have long hair then this is a great style for you to try out for your next style.

So what makes a good Fishtail? What do you need to have? Let’s start by answering the first question and then I will move onto the rest.

Decide the style

The very first step when learning how to do a fishtail braid is to decide what style you want to achieve. This can be either short or long. If you are looking for just a simple braid, then this is fine. You can also use different styles by using Tigi Bed Head Products.

You may want to take a trip down to the end, but the style should be simple enough to keep the same style throughout. For more options for a fishtail style, check out some of my other articles.

Material to use

Now that you know how to do a fishtail braid, you need to decide what materials you are going to use. This can either be braids, combs, or anything else. I usually do a fishtail braid with braids because they give a very simple look.

Braid to end up

Your next step is to decide where you want your braid to end up. You can end it at the top of your head, or anywhere you want. Once you are done with the style, tie a small piece of ribbon around the braid to hold it to your head. This gives the braid an overall neat and tidy look.

Twist the section

To do the actual braid, first take one section of hair and begin twisting the section into a tight spiral pattern. Once this has been done, you should pull the remaining hair through the loop. Repeat the process with the other section of hair and secure them in the back. Secure the end of the braid using a pin or Bobby pin.

Start at the bottom

Now that you know how to do a fishtail braid, let me tell you how to style it. The easiest way to style the style is by starting at the bottom, slowly working your way up. This will make sure that your braid is straight and doesn’t have any fringes or kinks in the middle.

Touch upon the crafts

The most fun part of learning how to do a fishtail braid is getting to work with your hands. Not only is this the best way to learn how to do a braid, but it also means getting to touch upon the craft every now and then. You will definitely be glad you did it.

Apply hairspray or gel

Once you have all of your hair tied in place, add a bit of hairspray or gel. This will protect the strands but make your hair easy to work with.

I have tried many different styles, but the one I love is the French twist braid. This is just a few sections of hair braided together and then twisted in a spiral pattern.

The French twist braid is so versatile, you can do almost anything with it. It also looks beautiful when it is done in different colors. Try doing a dark French twist braid in light yellow, or a black French twist braid in pale green. Just get creative with it and see what happens.

If you are looking to learn how to do a braid quickly, try a French twist braid. You can do it with a scarf, hair bands, or even a headband. Whatever you choose, you will have a braid to wear for a long time to come. When done correctly, you will be able to wear it with confidence and look great.
