Possible Best Playing 11

Gujarat probable starting XI is not looking bad. Shubman is a steady opener in Gill, but he lacks a bit of depth in the batting. David Miller has not been in great form in recent years and Vijay Shankar is not the kind of batsman who works at high strike-rates. So it will be interesting to see how the top order plays out. Hardik’s form will be crucial from a finishing point of view and he hopes Tewatia can come to the party as often as possible. The bowling looks more settled. Rashid has class and if Shami can get him quick wickets, Ferguson is the master of death overs.

Strength of GTS

This team has two of the best players in the T20 format. Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan. At present, there is hardly any finisher like Hardik, even if he bowls, then it will be icing on the gold. Rashid Khan, on the other hand, is considered the best spinner in the world. He plays in T20 leagues around the world. Abhinav Manohar Sadarangani, who scored runs in domestic cricket, will also be eyeing, on whom the team also made a big bet of Rs 2.6 crore.

Weakness of GTS

There are many shortcomings in the team. The biggest weakness is the absence of a star player, which creates a mental strain on the opposition. A few days before the tournament, Jason Roy withdrew due to personal reasons. Had he played, it was bound to open with Shubman Gill. The top order looks weak due to the departure of a handsome English opener. He has been replaced by Afghan player Rahmanullah Gurbaz. There is no established specialist batsman in the middle order as well. Hardik Pandya’s fitness is also a big question. The team is inexperienced. Miller is out of form. Even if no one buys them, no one will be surprised.
